Holy Innocents

DECEMBER 28-Ninos Innocentes!!
I have a very special devotion to this saints. Aside from being heralds or the coming of the Messiah, they are reminders that we must never question/doubt the grand design of God. Also let us pray for the countless Innocents who are being murdered by modern Herods - abortionists and the people who push it's legalization.

Is it safe to say....

Found this post in The Pinoy Catholic...

"The Student Council Alliance of the Philippines invites you to USAPANG SEKSWALIDAD: GENDER PERSPECTIVES AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE with Mr. Boy Abunda and Ms. Risa Hontiveros tom (Nov 21), 1:00-4:00 PM at MVP Roofdeck, Ateneo de Manila University."

A Catholic School allowing an openly gay individual who is openly acknowledging his homosexual lifestyle and engaging in a homosexual relationship to teach its "young people" regarding sexuality?

Is it safe to say that the Jesuits are doing more harm to the church than the SSPX? Just wondering....

O sige na nga.

Kuya Kim: Ginagawa na po ang pagdadasal sa mga patay tuwing November 1 dahil ito na ang nakagawian ng buong Europa dahil sa Paganong Pista na Samhain.
----Hay mediamen may not be accurate Historians, but they are certainly bad theologians. No offense meant kuya kim! idol pa din kita!!!!
Praying for the dead did not came to be because of Samhain. It's as if Kuya Kim is implying that this practice only happened so that the old Pagans may continue their practice in a Cristian sense. Well in fact, praying for the dead DID NOT COME from/because of Paganism but from JUDAISM. It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins. (2 Macabesse 12:46). And since much of Christianity came from Judaism (as the Pope said-the Jews are our older brothers in the faith), the practice of praying for the dead was simply passed on to us.

What comes around....

Went to SM megamall today to buy the St. Charles Borommeo statue. It was by the way given to me by girlfriend. When i saw those kids in their costumes roaming around the mall trick or treating.  Hay, I bet this kids has the faintest idea what's the costume wearing candy hopping all about.  A few centuries ago this pagan holiday was Christianized by our church, now what is already Christian is being paganized by media and pop culture.

It's nice to know that the original Christ the King Feast is held every last Sunday of October.  Ironically, during the first few decades of the reform, Halloween parties was a novelty in the Philippines.  It's considered "foreign" and "pang mayaman lang".  Before VC2 and a few years after VC2, Filipinos has the Pangangaluwa for Halloween. It's like "caroling" with a twist.  Here's the lyrics of the song:

Kaluluwa’y dumaratal
Sa tapat ng Durungawan
Kampanilya’y tinatantay
Ginigising ang may buhay
Kung kami po’y limusan
Dali-dalian po lamang
Baka kami mapagsarhan
Ng pinto ng kalangitan
Kaluluwa kaming tambing
Sa purgatoryo nanggaling

As you would notice the song is cathecetical in nature.  Reminding kids about the importance for prayers for the dead and the existence of purgatory.  Basic things that young Pinoy Catholics cannot explain today.

Does the decline of the Pangangaluwa, Padasal and Pasiyam, the sudden popularity of Halloween and its occult significance and the moving of the Feast of Christ the King has any connections?
