Forgot to Blog this on March 12

OH HAPPY DAY!
Just Received a third class relic of Blessed Margaret of Castello given to me by the St. Patrick Church in Columbus Ohio.

Oh St. Joseph!

Oh St. Joseph, I throw my worries into your hands. You know the feeling of being in a difficult situation. You know the meaning of anxiety and helplessness. You were anxious too when you learned that the woman betrothed to you was in a dire condition. But with a great faith, you trusted the words of the angel and left everything to God, always believing that He will never abandon those who trust Him.. So I implore thee Blessed Joseph, be with me in this time of worry and sadness. Knowing that my prayers would also be yours. I trust that you will whisper my petitions to HIM who once obeyed you as a father here on earth. Amen.

For Our Lady

I bought an Icon today from Liturgica. The Icon of the Gate of the Sky (portaitissa).
I haven;t had it pictured yet. But it is similar to this one.
The scar on her face.
Given by those who hate her.
Hate the veneration that she deserves.
May the scars on her face forever remind us.
That if we put our shields down.
If our swords will rest to their sheaths.
More scars will be delivered to her Immaculate Face.

To Our Queen of Peace

Last week, a student of mine gave me an image of the famed Virgin of Antipolo. Actually I asked her to buy me one when I learned that she and her family will be visiting the miraculous shrine with the agreement that I'll just pay her when she returns. However she later told me that she will just give it to me for free (God Bless her), sigh, I guess this one of the perks of being a teacher.  Anyway, my last visit to Antipolo was eons ago. I was then a Grade 4 or Grade 5 student I guess, I already forgot how the Church looks like. But the beauty of the image of the Virgin of Peace and Good Voyage still appeals to me. There is something in her brown complexion and her innocent child like eyes that speaks to me, telling me that everything will be alright. The love of her devotees can never be matched by any silver nor gold, however since they still want her to be honored to the fullest, the Virgin whom they believed as their own , a Brown Madonna, lowly as she is was dressed as the Queen of Heaven and Earth.
Here is my picture of the statue given to me.

Besides her are images of St. Ann and St. Joachim, her parents. On top is her Divine Child. The Santo Nino of Cebu, another Pinoy Favorite. With the Child King is his foster father, The Good St. Joseph and the Prince of the Heavenly Host, St. Michael the Archangel, both are protectors of the Catholic Church.

As long as these images are gloriously venerated and adored in this country, we are assured that the Philippines will remain a faithful daughter of the Church!  May God answer our petitions through our veneration of these powerful icons. Long Live the Virgin of Antipolo! Long Live the Queen of Peace!

Holy Innocents

DECEMBER 28-Ninos Innocentes!!
I have a very special devotion to this saints. Aside from being heralds or the coming of the Messiah, they are reminders that we must never question/doubt the grand design of God. Also let us pray for the countless Innocents who are being murdered by modern Herods - abortionists and the people who push it's legalization.

Is it safe to say....

Found this post in The Pinoy Catholic...

"The Student Council Alliance of the Philippines invites you to USAPANG SEKSWALIDAD: GENDER PERSPECTIVES AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE with Mr. Boy Abunda and Ms. Risa Hontiveros tom (Nov 21), 1:00-4:00 PM at MVP Roofdeck, Ateneo de Manila University."

A Catholic School allowing an openly gay individual who is openly acknowledging his homosexual lifestyle and engaging in a homosexual relationship to teach its "young people" regarding sexuality?

Is it safe to say that the Jesuits are doing more harm to the church than the SSPX? Just wondering....
